A quiet, mature residential area within reach of both Old Town and City Centre. Large old plots, mature trees, and a steady trickle of properties that come to market when a family sells up. Very little new construction — what is here is what there is.
Malawi's capital and its biggest property market. Lilongwe is organised into numbered Areas rather than named suburbs, which is why almost every local search is for a number — Area 47, Area 49, Area 43. Broadly, the low numbers and Old Town are the older, denser, cheaper side of the city; the high numbers to the north and east are where the newer walled houses and the remaining serviced plots are. City Centre is offices and institutions rather than homes.
