Government, banks, hotels and head offices, laid out around Capital Hill. This is where office space searches land rather than house searches — the residential element is small and mostly institutional housing attached to employers.
About Lilongwe
Malawi's capital and its biggest property market. Lilongwe is organised into numbered Areas rather than named suburbs, which is why almost every local search is for a number — Area 47, Area 49, Area 43. Broadly, the low numbers and Old Town are the older, denser, cheaper side of the city; the high numbers to the north and east are where the newer walled houses and the remaining serviced plots are. City Centre is offices and institutions rather than homes.
