North of the city near the Kanengo road, mixing residential plots with light industry and warehousing. Attractive to buyers who want land within the city boundary at a price the central areas no longer offer.
Malawi's capital and its biggest property market. Lilongwe is organised into numbered Areas rather than named suburbs, which is why almost every local search is for a number — Area 47, Area 49, Area 43. Broadly, the low numbers and Old Town are the older, denser, cheaper side of the city; the high numbers to the north and east are where the newer walled houses and the remaining serviced plots are. City Centre is offices and institutions rather than homes.
