A large, mixed and busy area on the northern side of the city, with a genuine spread from modest family houses to substantial walled properties. Good road access and plenty of shops, which is why it carries so much of Lilongwe's mid-market rental supply.
Malawi's capital and its biggest property market. Lilongwe is organised into numbered Areas rather than named suburbs, which is why almost every local search is for a number — Area 47, Area 49, Area 43. Broadly, the low numbers and Old Town are the older, denser, cheaper side of the city; the high numbers to the north and east are where the newer walled houses and the remaining serviced plots are. City Centre is offices and institutions rather than homes.
