Green, quiet and close to City Centre, which makes it a favourite for embassies, residences and senior staff housing. Stock is limited and turns over slowly; when a house does come up it tends to go quickly and at the top of the range.
Malawi's capital and its biggest property market. Lilongwe is organised into numbered Areas rather than named suburbs, which is why almost every local search is for a number — Area 47, Area 49, Area 43. Broadly, the low numbers and Old Town are the older, denser, cheaper side of the city; the high numbers to the north and east are where the newer walled houses and the remaining serviced plots are. City Centre is offices and institutions rather than homes.
