A large, densely built township on the western side of Blantyre. Affordable houses and a deep market in rooms and self contained rentals. Plots still change hands here, though most are already built on.
About Blantyre
Malawi's commercial capital and its oldest city. Unlike Lilongwe, Blantyre goes by named suburbs, and the names carry a lot of information about price: the ridge suburbs above the city — Namiwawa, Nyambadwe, Sunnyside, Kabula — are the established, expensive addresses, while Ndirande, Bangwe, Chilomoni and Chirimba are the big, dense, affordable townships. Limbe is a second commercial centre in its own right.
